4 Impressive Meals to Try for Your Friendsgiving

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. John's chapter.

Thanksgiving is a holiday that is associated with family, friends, and what you are thankful for during that year or in life. Since traveling home is expensive, especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas, spending your Thanksgiving with your friends is an awesome way to still be surrounded by the people you love.

Since you might be having Thanksgiving in a college dorm setting or in the common rooms of suites here at St. John’s, you may run into some manageable issues.

Finding a turkey or meat is one of the hardest things to find and cook during Friendsgiving, especially in a college dorm. Cooking a turkey in the small, communal kitchen of your residence hall is not an option, so the best option to replace a turkey is to go to your local grocery store and buy rotisserie chickens for your suite. If buying rotisserie chickens is too much food, you can find pre-cut pieces of turkey that you can use in the  tiny communal oven.

Here are some sides or appetizers that you can easily make for Friendsgiving to go with your meat:

1. Spinach and Artichoke Dip

One of the easiest things to keep hunger away while preparing a Thanksgiving dinner is spinach and artichoke dip. Many people think that you need an oven to make this dip, but there is a way to make it without an oven. You can either buy it at the store or you can make it easily in a dorm.

Here is a non-cook recipe for this amazing dip:

2. Deviled eggs

Deviled eggs are a classic, universal snack that is served during many family gatherings. They are easy to make; however, college students tend to hate mayonnaise. Here are two ways to make deviled eggs that will appease everyone.

Try this recipe with mayo and without mayo.

3. Caprese tomato tower salad
