If you are like me, you let the days of October fly by and suddenly its October 31 and you’ve got no idea who or what you are going to be for the upcoming party or event. Every year without fail, I am sent into a panic, scrambling to look for anything, anything that even remotely resembles some television or otherwise well known character. So to help my fellow procrastinators out, here is a list of quick, easy-to-make, last minute Halloween costume ideas:
1. Witch
A beloved idea for a reason, this costume can be interpreted in many ways. You could always go for that classic black-on-black-on-black look, finished off with that smirky, sensual glare to boot or you could opt for a more Wiccan vibe, complimented with Earthy tones and a gentler, harmonious gaze.

2. Vampire
Another very easy costume – all you need is black and red face paint, and an all black ensemble. I personally love the idea of a more modern vampire, where you don some cute black leggings and black tank top and then add enough red to your mouth and chin to look like you’ve just slaughtered ten people. If you’d like the Dracula look, wear all white and find a black cape. – Image from Globe Views
3. Anyone from Mean Girls
I don’t know about you but this was THE movie as I was entering high school (let’s be real, it still is…) This idea works best if you go in a group – that way, each of you can be a member of the Plastics and can even incorporate the other characters, like Janis and Damian. – Image from EW
4. Scooby Doo Gang
This one may be a tad more difficult considering each of the characters have their own color scheme. So you could go with your favorite and try to find cheap clothes fitting this color in a charity shop or from a friend’s closet, or you could pick the character based on what you have in your wardrobe now :) Most of us have something for Daphne, with all of her purples. Again don’t feel like you need to be exactly like the cartoon characters – feel free to update or modernize them. – Image from CinemaBlend
5. Any female at a preparatory school
This is probably the easiest for all of us. Let’s be honest with ourselves – we go to a pretty preppy school and most of us own something that fits with this general vibe. If not, a friend will definitely have something you can use. For this costume idea feel free to pick any populat character that attends a prep school – from the Gossip Girl ladies to even a more preppy Nancy Drew, the possibilites are endless. – Image from Pinterest
