Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, I don’t think there’s anything quite like a good old Christmas carol to get you in the holiday spirit. As the days get colder and shorter, there’s something beautiful about finding comfort and warmth in music, in your favorite Christmas carols. So without further ado, these are my favorite Christmas songs to get into the holiday mood.
1. All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey
I don’t want a lot for Christmas There is just one thing I need I don’t care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree I just want you for my own
A classic Christmas song, this cheesy but wonderful romantic ditty always brings to mind the film classic Love Actually, one of the best cozy Christmas movies there is. Catchy and completely singalong-able, nothing says it’s time for the holidays quite like this song.
2. Winter Wonderland by Bing Crosby
Sleigh bells ring Are you listening In the lane Snow is glistening A beautiful sight We’re happy tonight Walking in a winter wonderland
I remember playing this song over and over again during December as a kid, and whenever I listen to this song it still brings back all the Christmas memories. Let’s hope for snow so we can experience a real winter wonderland :)
3. White Christmas by Frank Sinatra
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas Just like the ones I used to know Where the treetops glisten, and Children listen to hear Sleigh bells in the snow
Of course I couldn’t leave Ol’ Blue Eyes off the list now could I? White Christmas is an absolute classic, and nothing can top Sinatra’s version – I really enjoy Michael Buble’s though!
4. Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helm
Jingle bell, jingle bell Jingle bell rock Jingle bell swing And jingle bells ring Snowin’ and blowin’ Up bushels of fun Now the jingle hop has begun
I love this song a lot, it’s just so happy and energetic – Christmas is supposed to be a happy time of the year, and nothing makes me happier than listening this bouncy little tune. I think we all need some Jingle Bell Rock in our lives right now to help with exams :)
