Jewellery Staples You Need in Your Lineup

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. Andrews chapter.

Just like any other effortless outfit, the devil’s in the details. Although, keeping up with the ever-changing trends is exhausting, so let’s keep it simple. Just like your favourite pair of jeans and a trusty white T-shirt, jewellery is a classic, adding flair to any look. So, when I think of jewellery I go for timeless, investment pieces you’ll wear, love, and glow in. After all, who doesn’t want a sprinkle of silver and gold?

Sticking to simplicity, a daily go-to is a pair of minimal stud earrings. These are perfect for a light touch of sparkle or try a custom stacked look to make it unique. Chic and carefree just like you, these can easily transition from your morning gym class to a night out.

Huggie earrings

Looking for a subtle statement? Upgrade to a huggie or hoop earring. These stay in season through and through, and offer a range of looks from the classic solid metal to pavé styles.

Pendant Necklace

Another versatile piece is the classic pendant necklace. Sold in thousands, if not millions of styles, the pendant is something the wearer gets to choose. If you’re looking to make a mark and keep a little something (like your initials, lucky charm or star sign) close to your heart, this is the best place to start, and you can keep ‘em stacking!

Pearl Necklace

Bring a little taste of summer into any season with a simple strand of pearls. Whether it’s a classic collection of white or black, any style is bound to accentuate your ethereal energy.

One of my personal and family favourites is a signet ring. Everyone needs a signet in their jewellery rotation. Just think about personalisation! Monograms, precious stones, designs, and crests, the possibilities are endless.

Craving some color? Make it a tailored treasure by wearing your birthstone. Not only is this a symbol of good luck, but it adds an instant refresh to any daily metal mix.

Finally, the beloved stacking rings. They come in all shapes, sizes, and metals, however, my recommendation when it comes to stackers is to plan it out. Sometimes it feels right to go all in and get the flashy bands, yet, never underestimate the power of minimalism. When it comes to stacking rings, keep the style simple, but pile them up to make the look your own.

Beauty and simplicity take on a sporty form in the bracelet. Perfect for a little glow on the go! Keep it simple with a chain link, or add a little glitz and glam with some stones, either way, you can’t go wrong.
