Flicking through Vogue on many a sunny morning on the beach in the north of Spain, where I spent six weeks of my summer working as an au pair, I picked out my favourite trend this autumn/ winter – houndstooth print. I spotted my friend Lucy Fellows walking to her first lecture of this academic year wearing a houndstooth Moschino coat, fully aware that in St Andrews looking stylish in a lecture is just as important as attending. This print looks fabulous next to plain black (and glossy blonde hair…) demonstrated by Lucy’s choice of black jeans, boots and a Mulberry bag.Â
