Like so many others, the skin care game has risen in importance, especially for me. After struggling with Cystic Acne my freshman year of college, I knew that I needed to be more aware of the products I was using on my face. After two plus years of trial and error and an empty wallet, I FINALLY have a list of my favorite skin care products.

AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution by The Ordinary

  • The first couple times using this product comes with a bit of a burning as your skin gets used to it. It does take a while to get used to the solution. It is recommended to only use twice a week and for no longer than 10 minutes each use. After rinsing off, my skin feels dried out,but clean. I have definitely noticed a more even skin tone and more of a natural glow after using this product.

Daily Hydration Overnight Face Oil by Shea Moisture

  • I used to get really dry skin and nothing was able to restore the moisture. I decided to go ahead and try this oil, which was risky since applying oil on the skin can sometimes cause breakouts. However, I never had any issues and it restored the moisture immediately. I only used for a few weeks until I no longer needed it.

Eye Sleeping Mask by Laneige

  • I have never used an eye mask until this product. After applying once every other evening, I have noticed less under eye baggage and less swelling. Plus, it feels super cooling when you massage it into your skin.

Firming Night Cream by Burt’s Bees

  • My favorite moisturizer got discontinued, so I was on the long hunt for a new moisturizer and I finally found this one!  It has been a lifesaver and moisturizes perfectly without feeling greasy or oily. In addition, this product uses natural ingredients, which I prefer. I paired it with Firming Smoothing Eye Cream and the Firming Intensive Serum from the same “Renewal” line from Burt’s Bees and have definitely seen the benefits, including smooth skin and a lesser appearance of deep lines

Kale- Lalu- yAHA (Resurfacing AHA exfoliator) by Krave Beauty

  •  Having sensitive skin, I find many  chemical exfoliants to be really irritating, but this one feels really refreshing. Whenever I use it at night, the next morning I can see the difference in my skin! Also, it is not nearly as expensive as other chemical exfoliants I have used in the past. AKA a huge win!

Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser by Krave Beauty

  • This antioxidant cleanser has been a LIFE saver. After having it recommended to me from a friend, I gave it a go. It removes dirt and makeup well, while leaving my skin feeling fresh, clean, and hydrated.

Niacinimide 10% + Zinc 1% by The Ordinary

  • This product is really good for getting rid of dark spots and acne scars. I have been using it for about 2.5 months  and have noticed a more even skin tone and dark spots fading. On top of it all, it isn’t drying.  Recently, it has been really helpful for my chest and back acne.

Sun Bum SPF 50

  • I finally found the perfect facial sunscreen that I can wear under makeup. It doesn’t feel greasy after application and it goes on very smooth. Luckily, it hasn’t made me break out either, so it’s perfect!

Having a skin care routine has made my mornings and evening run smoothly. It gives me something to do that directly impacts my self esteem and confidence. I recommend all of these products to my gals out there! Kick back, relax, and take care of yourself.
