For those fashionistas out there, I think we can all agree that there is a certain feeling we get when we discover a new clothing shop. It’s like finding treasure in a vast sea. Finding small boutiques you love is exciting because it’s a chance for you to look unique; a place where not everyone shops. It’s like a secret that you have, and you hope others won’t find out. Don’t worry though, I will let you in on my secrets:

Pipe and Row- Fremont

Tucked behind a chic brick storefront, Pipe and Row can easily be missed for those who have never been in. They offer quirky, modern and minimalist pieces. The brands are unique and the style is sophisticated yet very relaxed. If you love a good Instagram account, their Instagram is witty and offers a good laugh as you scroll through.

Peridot Boutique- Queen Anne

Recently moved to the top of Queen Anne where the hustle and bustle is, Peridot has seen a major facelift. The new boutique is ultra-stylish and offers a wide variety of merchandise. They have items for the fashionista, for the older ages, for the athletic and for the simple. The atheistic is very monochromatic and their secret weapon is tons of super soft textures.

Horseshoe-Ballard

With a slight western inspired theme, Horseshoe is great because they offer a wide selection of different brands, including name brands such as TOMS and FRYE. They also house other brands that focus on comfort, fit and simplicity.

Moorea Seal- Belltown

A favorite amongst SPU students, maybe because the owner is an SPU alum, or maybe because the store offers a perfect assortment of rustic chic items. Ranging from delicate handmade jewelry, instagram worthy paper goods and rustic interior pieces, the store is chalked full of lust worthy items. With a percentage of proceeds going to different causes, not only is it a gorgeous store but it also makes each purchase more than worth it.

Baby&Co- Downtown

Located close to Pike Place, it’s very possible you have passed the store and assumed it was a maternity clothes shop. Alas, think again. At a higher price point, Baby&Co offers different designers that are carefully and artfully showcased in the boutique. We are talking designer pieces that are high quality, but names that you haven’t probably heard. They have been around for a while and hone the title founder of “slow fashion” meaning they focusing on quality not quantity and aim to do everything “as well as possible, not as fast as possible.”
