Bubble Tea: A Great little lunch time refreshment

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Southampton chapter.

This week, HCS investigates Bubble tea, the latest craze that’s sweeping Highfield campus!

Pearls Bubble Tea Café comes from the alternative streets of Brighton and sells refreshing green and milk teas originally invented in Taiwan during the 80’s. They come in various flavours such as coconut milk tea and iced tea with honey and have a range of unusual toppings from tapioca to popping pearls which can be sucked up through the chunky straws given at the counter. You can even ask for reduced sugar so that summer body doesn’t have to suffer! We love passion fruit green tea and the banana milk tea which tastes just like milkshake!

These thirst-quenching treats are perfect on those hot summer days and make an ideal break from slaving away for hours in the library.

Where you can get your hands (or taste buds!) on these? The new Bubble Tea Bar is located in the new kiosk on level 3 in the SUSU building.

So next time you get a thirst on, why not try out these little refreshers?!
