Why YOU Should Shop Serengetee This Season

Does Christmas have you in a gift jam? We all know the struggle– trying to find something for your friends, your significant other, your siblings, etc. The people closest to us are often the hardest people to shop for, but why? Sometimes we get so caught up in the idea of giving a present that it makes it difficult for us to actually sit and brainstorm gift ideas. Instead, we get hung up on:  “Okay, what is something Sarah would actually love, not just ‘sort of like’?” or “I really don’t want to get Matt the same thing as everyone else.” The pressure of giving the perfect present can take all of the fun out of gift-giving and reduce us all to Scrooges, lacking the Christmas spirit and joy that accompanies the winter season.

So here’s a Christmas proposal:  that we take a moment to breathe and remember what exactly this holiday season represents, and the good feelings and good will it promotes. What better way to spread holiday cheer and world peace (lookin’ at you Miss Congeniality) than supporting the millions of people around the world who could use some holiday cheer and love this season, while also getting your best friend an amazing gift she will love? For those of you unfamiliar with Serengetee, it is a company started by college students that promotes humanitarian efforts and good will. Jeff and Ryan (aka the Serengetee founders) collected swatches of fabrics created by locals in over a dozen countries while studying abroad with Semester at Sea. Using these fabrics, they created products with the intent of selling them to raise money for the creators of the original fabrics, to aid their communities and promote a better life for people worldwide. Over time, more and more people in need were adopted in to the Serengetee family. Serengetee now supports over 30 causes, such as Soles4Souls, Generosity Water, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, and A21 Campaign, to name a few. What started as an idea has grown into a hugely rewarding worldwide philanthropic effort.

Here’s how it works:

1) Go to Serengetee’s website (Click here to get started!)

2) Browse the site by fabric, continent, product, or cause of your choice

3) Choose from tons of new and classic patterns (which will be hard because they are all AWESOME)

4) Choose your product (personally, I love the t-shirts– I swear they are the softest, most comfortable shirts I’ve ever owned)

5) Watch your intended gift receiver become more excited than Ralphie when he finally gets his Red Ryder air rifle on Christmas morning when he/she unwraps your sweet Serengetee gift

So don’t be a Scrooge, give Serengetee this holiday season. You may not see the smiles halfway around the world that come from your effort, but you can sure see them on the faces of your friends.
