There are several different subscriptions to choose from, which can seem overwhelming and honestly might make you want to just go back to your drug store brand make-up from seventh grade, but don’t worry! We have the basics on the most popular boxes to help you decide.
Birchbox
This may be the most well known box of them all, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best fit for you! This box will come once a month with five sample size products that range from hair care, skincare and, of course, make-up! The products are picked out for you based on a profile you fill out on their website, and you can even decide whether you want a box strictly for makeup, or with a little bit of everything. A Birchbox subscription will only cost you $10 a month.
Ipsy
Ipsy is great because you also get a make-up bag every month – how awesome is that?! The bag comes filled with five products, but they may range from sample size to full size, depending on the product. The brands also vary widely, from drug store brands like e.l.f, to Too Faced, to NARS, to Tom Ford, so you might not get as many high end products with this subscription (which can be good if those high end products are out of your price range). An Ipsy subscription will require you to complete a beauty profile and will cost you $10 a month.
Play! By Sephora
This fun box delivers five deluxe sized samples in a cute collectible bag. Your items will be selected based on questions you answer about your preferences. Everything you get in this box will always be available either at Sephora stores or online. Plus you get a “Play! pass,” which gives you the opportunity to earn 50 Sephora Beauty Insider points! A Play! by Sephora subscription will cost you $10 a month.
Boxycharm
Boxycharm is a little bit different from the other boxes because you will always get full size products! Each delivery will include four or five items with a retail value of over $100. This subscription will cost you more than $10 a month though. A Boxycharm subscription will be $21 a month, but you can get discounted rates for buying three, six or 12 months up front!
Glossybox
Glossybox is another pricier option at $21 a month, but you will get five products each month and three of them will always be full sized. The items you receive will be high-end or emerging brands, so you can also have the opportunity to fall in love with a product you would have never tried otherwise! You can get a cheaper rate for your Glossybox subscription by choosing a three, six or twelve-month plan where you would be billed quarterly, semi-annually or annually.
