The Halloween season gives off a kind of aurora that’s inexplicably absent during the other times of the year. The crisp fall air, the crunchy leaves, the melodious cackles of witches all around the streets. Hot apple cider, countless types and copious amounts of candy, sharp screams emitting from your TV screen. It’s these elements that mesh together and create vibes so immaculate, it’s no wonder some people consider Halloween their favorite holiday of all. The salty airs of Summer and the cheery chill of the Winter can’t do it like the “Fall” (Halloween time) can.

Because of the enormity of this holiday, I consider Halloween to last the full month of October. It’s a big deal and it should be taken as such. I have been using these fateful October days to plot and plan for the finale on the 31st. I have been basking in the Halloween aurora. I’ve been cooking with cinnamon, carving pumpkins, watching classic films, and jumping on crunchy leaves in my boots. But one of the most important tasks I’ve chalked up for myself over the last few weeks is this: creating the perfect Halloween playlist.

While I’m stomping my little Air Force Ones on the ground in a few days in my Suzy from Moonrise Kingdom costume, I don’t wanna be listening to some wimpy half-done-last-minute-basic Halloween playlist. I need all genres, the best vibes, the indie, the loud, the proud, the emotive, incredibly spooky tunes that remind me that, despite the 70 degree weather, it is spooky season and it is the night of nights for all my fellow goblins and ghouls and witches. I’ve been trying to encapsulate all those feelings into one big playlist of ultimate Halloween feelings.

And I have done it. Don’t let your night be ruined by a mediocre collection of Halloween music ladies and gentlemen. Listen to this curated playlist sure to make you feel all the vibes necessary for the perfect Halloween night.
