The Tin Roof in the Vista was packed tight this past Friday for up and coming country music star Sam Hunt. Tickets were only $12 and the venue sold out the day of his performance.

Hunt’s current tour focuses around his new album “Montevallo,” which includes his recent hit single, “Leave the Night On.” Even though “Montevallo” is his debut album, Hunt has actually written hit songs for famous recording artists such as Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, and Billy Currington.

Before he was a musician, Hunt played college football at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Hunt was even invited to training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs, but his NFL career was short-lived, so he decided to go to Nashville to pursue a music career.

Hunt’s sound has been described as a mix of modern beats and tones paired with influences of R&B, along with the narrative lyrics that are often definitive of country music. To learn more about Sam Hunt and check out the rest of his tour dates, visit his website here.
