Help for the Holidays: Taking Advantage of USC’s Finals Aid

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

With finals nearing sooner than any college student desires, the time to adopt good study habits has arrived. With notecards and Quizlet glooming as viable options, our very own university offers finals aids that should be taken full advantage of. The Student Success Center has created a variety of different opportunities to guarantee students #crush their exams.

1. Finals Frenzy

Finals Frenzy are two-hour drop-in exam review sessions led by SI instructors to review various classes’ material. The sessions are taking place between December 9-17 at Russell House. The schedule is located at The Student Success Center’s website.

2. Writing Support

Peer Writings and Communications Tutors will be extending their hours during finals week to help with compositions. The Writing Lab has drop in hours on Monday-Thursday from 12 p.m.-10 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Their office is located in the Women’s Quad at Sims Hall, Room 109. Appointments are also available online.

3. Success Consultation

Make an appointment with an undergraduate success consultant who can help you map out the best study plan for your exams. They are well-trained from their own experiences and are available to ensure your success. Appointments are available online.

4. Thomas Cooper Library Study Rooms

Thomas Cooper offers available study rooms to students who are looking to study individually, or in a group. You can reserve a study room online, but they do fill up quickly.

May the odds be in your favor, Gamecocks.

Hello, it's Bri (to the tune of Adele please). I am a senior at USC Columbia and am not currently thirty, flirty, and thriving, but twenty-one, anxious, and trying will sure do.
