5 Affordable Products That You Need to Add to Your Skincare Routine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

1. Glossier Bubblewrap Cream | $26

This Glossier Bubblewrap is hands-down my absolute favorite skincare product. I use this first thing in the morning under my eyes, and before doing my makeup. Within seconds my skin is noticeably brighter and smoother. This product is one of the few creams that I’ve found that doesn’t feel sticky or too thick under my makeup. Ingredients include hyaluronic acid, avocado oil, and blueberry extract.

2. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% | $5.90

If you suffer from oiliness and enlarged pores, this is the best formula for your skin. It’s a high-strength vitamin and mineral blemish formula with niacinamide and zinc. I usually put this on before bed after washing my face and prior to putting on moisturizers. This product reduces the appearance of blemishes and large pores, allowing you to wake up with glowing skin. The Ordinary has an extensive collection of well-priced skincare, but this is most definitely my favorite.

3. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water | $8.99

The Garnier Micellar Water is an all-around amazing product for those with any type of skin. It lifts away dirt, oil, and makeup with ease, leaving you feeling immediately refreshed. My favorite time to use this is right after a workout or after a long day away from home. I even use it to take off leftover mascara after washing my face, which surprisingly works just as well as name-brand makeup removers. This micellar water leaves no greasy residue, all while leaving you glowing.

4. Derma-E Scar Gel | $19.95

I discovered the Derma-E Scar Gel a few years ago and have been using it religiously ever since. It’s a lightweight gel that you can apply directly to scars or even over your entire face. It leaves behind no residue and immediately melts into your skin. Beyond improving scar texture and color, this scar gel makes your face appear extremely healthy. I first used this on a burn that I got from a curling iron (we’ve all been there) and it began to fade within weeks. I’ve found this to also be extremely soothing on sunburns after a long day out.

5. First Aid Beauty Ginger & Turmeric Vitamin C Jelly Mask | $32

If you’re a fan of face masks, this jelly mask is a must-have for your skin care regimen. It’s filled with amazing ingredients that leave your face feeling immediately refreshed. Ginger gives a burst of coolness, all while vitamin C and turmeric calm stressed-out skin. I use this multiple times a week after getting out of the shower, especially when my skin is in need of a little TLC. If I were to only use one face mask, this First Aid Beauty jelly mask would be the one.

Try these any time you feel like you need to mix up your skincare routine.
