Sonoma State senior Ashley Nelson from Redwood City, CA is one campus cutie that everyone seems to know around campus. This communications major is not only involved all over the community but has worked towards a triple threat focus in public relations, writing, and film. After graduation, she is hoping to land a job in the sports industry.
“I’m really into extreme sports,” said Nelson. “I like watching the X-games. That’s what I’m into, mainly skateboarding and snowboarding, those kinds of sports.”
This cutie not only watches extreme sports, but she participates as well.
“I snowboard and I tried to skateboard once and I fell and I’ve never gone back,” said Nelson.
Nelson made it her goal to get a little more involved at Sonoma State each year she’s been here. After four years, this cutie certainly made a name for herself.
“Each year I try to get a little more involved with school,” said Nelson. “Junior year I joined a sorority, end of junior year I got a job on campus in administration and finance and I’ve held several internships.”
Nelson is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority here on campus. This sorority is most known for their Lip Jam event that happens each spring where all of Greek Life competes against each other in a dancing and lip-syncing competition.
Nelson has also participated in several internships both on and off campus in the local community.
“I’m currently working with Associated student productions right now in the student union,” said Nelson. “Last fall I had an internship with Wine Country Radio in Santa Rosa and that was really cool. Right now, I’m hoping to get an internship with infenion raceway as part of the public relations team and I have an interview next week. Fingers crossed!”
Nelson currently lives off campus in her final semester here at SSU and is in a relationship. Keep an eye out on campus for this cutie!
