One of the top foods in my food pyramid is…..drum roll please……PASTA! Let’s be real, when you are in a rush and hardly ever have time to cook, pasta is the GOAT of all foods. You can literally add whatever you’d like to it. You can have plain butter pasta, pesto pasta, lemon shrimp pasta, zucchini pasta, the list is endless. Pinterest is where I usually find interesting ways to change up what kind pasta I have. I have made a list of my few favorites, and a few that are on my ‘to try’ list that you should try too!

Garlic Butter Shrimp

This is one of my top favorites! It’s super easy to make and honestly, it’s so hard to not want to eat the whole pot at once. Most of the ingredients are things you usually have in your kitchen. I personally don’t add wine to mine, just because I’d rather drink it than eat it…ha!

Avocado Pasta

If you love guacamole, you’re going to looooveee this one! It’s a super simple recipe, with only a few basic ingredients needed. This recipe can be eaten either warm or cold (both are good to me), just make sure your avocados are ripe enough. Once I used avocados that were too ripe, and, well… long story short it was a disaster. Keep in mind you can always add whatever seasonings you want!

Pesto Sun Dried Tomato Asparagus Pasta

This one is still on my ‘try soon’ list. But c’mon, look at how yummy this looks. My favorite pastas are the ones that require little ingredients. If you try this recipe, make sure to share some pictures with us!

Sesame Noodles

I love love love asian noodles. Asian food in general is my weakness, but sadly I can’t addord to eat chow mein from Hunan’s every day. This is an easy recipe that will satisfy your cravings! You can even meal prep and make noodles for a few days.

** Tips From Edith On How To Spice Up Your Normal Pasta**

Alfredo Pasta: Add a few drops of lemon and chopped onion to your basic Alfredo sauce, and if you’re feeling adventurous cook some shrimp while your pasta is cooking, or in the same pot if you are lazy AF like me to add flavor! Adding pepper and garlic salt are also simple ways to add more flavor.

Regular Tomato Sauce: When I’m feeling fancy, I like to use fresh tomatoes to make a sauce. You just chop them up, cook with garlic and onion and whatever spices you’d like, and tada! Done. You can also use canned whole/chopped tomatoes if you do not have any fresh ones.

Type of Pasta: There are sooooo many types of pasta, switch them around so you don’t feel like you are eating the same meal over and over again. If you are also looking into eating healthier, try zoodles (zucchini noodles), whole wheat pasta, or pasta made with vegetables. The list is endless! Enjoy!
