What to do if you’re going home for Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMU chapter.

Ahh, spring break. We know as soon as we step back onto campus after winter break the countdown to spring break commences. Many people will travel to the Gulf Shores, Destin, Palm Beach, Cabo or the Bahamas- yet some of our favorite spring breaks have been spent going home. Tons of people return home for spring break, yet some may think of this as a cop out. We say do whatever your heart desires! Whether it is to party all night with strangers or return home to your childhood bedroom, this break is meant for you! Here are some ideas for how to spend your spring break at home:

1. Become a tourist in your own town. Google the best museums and new restaurants and go and try them out!

2. Hang out with your family. Maybe it’s with your younger siblings, or your cousins that live an hour away, but make an effort to try to spend some quality family time.

3. Take a road trip! 4. Try a new hobby.

5. Just relax! Take this time to unwind from school, and gear up to finish out the semester strong once you return to Dallas.
