I Did a Full Face of Cruelty Free Makeup From CVS for Only $15

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMU chapter.

The look I usually go for is a sort of “I’m naturally glowy, happy, and healthy!” which is a triple layer cake of lies. I also love a look that aligns with my time (low) commitment level (lower) and skill level (the lowest). Feel free to swap out any of these products with a similarly priced counterpart, of which there are plenty, or switch the steps out to match the look you’re going for. Show up to your 8 a.m. in full glam. The world is your oyster.

Step 1: Eyebrows.

Do this first. If you have to leave half-way through your routine, you want your eyebrows to be in the done half.

Product: NYX Professional Makeup Slim Eye Pencil

Price: $3.49

Shade Range: This pencil isn’t technically for eyebrows, so it comes in pretty much any shade you can imagine. All hair colors are covered.

Step 2: Concealer.

Nothing kills the carefree-summer-vibes look quicker than dark circles.

Product: LA Girl Pro.Conceal

Price: $3.99

Shade Range: 22 offered shades, wide range of colors and undertones, and cheap enough to buy another shade to contour with if that’s your cup of tea.

Step 3: Highlight.

An integral part of the look. Makes you look like you care about getting good sleep and adequate hydration.

Product: e.l.f. Baked Highlighter

Price: $4.00

Shade Range: 5 offered shades.

Step 4: Lips.

You cannot go wrong with a clear gloss. Every skin tone, every look. It’s just a step above chapstick.

Product: e.l.f. Lip Lacquer, Clear

Price: $2.00

Step 5: Mascara.

If the stars align and I’m up early and care enough for this step despite the fact that I wear glasses, I think it’s a nice finishing touch.

Product: Wet n Wild Mega Protein Mascara, Very Black

Price: $2.99
