For those of us with no plans on the 14th, it’s a great idea to use this day as a perfect opportunity for a little “me-time.” Give yourself a little rest and relaxation with a home beauty treatment to replenish your skin during this cold, dry winter. Be your own valentine this year, and never forget to #TreatYourself.

  1. Light a candle.

To start, light a fresh smelling candle and play some music to put you in a relaxed mood. Check out this Prosecco Rose scented candle from Voluspa. Obviously don’t do this if you in a dorm, though.

2. Use makeup remover wipes.

To begin your at-home-facial, remove all of the makeup and dirt from throughout the day to give your skin a clean base for the rest of the products you apply to it. Try these Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes that target clogged pores and acne-prone skin.

3. Wash your face.

This may seem trivial, but it’s essential. Go ahead and use your everyday face wash, but if you need a little insight on a fantastic face wash, I use the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. I love it because it’s gentile on skin and harsh on makeup and dirt buildup. Check it out!

4. Tone.

It is so important to tone your face! Most people forget this step, but toning is actually necessary to completely remove dirt from the face while brightening your natural skin and shrinking the appearance of pores. You can find them anywhere, but I use the Beautiful Skin Refreshing Toner from the brand No7.

5. Smear on a facemask.

Face masks are a great way to rehydrate skin while drawing out any buildup of toxins due to makeup and dirt throughout each day. Try going for a moisturizing mask, such as the Moisturizing Moon Mask from Glossier.

6. Exfoliate.

During our typical busy schedules, it’s pretty easy to forget to exfoliate throughout the week. My ride or die, all-time favorite will forever and always be the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash in Pink Grapefruit. I can’t express to you enough how many times this has saved me from breakouts and dry skin over the past few years.

6. Moisturize.

Moisturizing is ESSENTIAL during winter. I genuinely do not think I could live without my Glossier Priming Moisturizer in the rich formula. It has saved my skin in the dry December and January months.

7. Paint your nails.

No Valentine’s Day is complete without a bright red manicure. Try out the Essie shade Fifth Avenue for the perfect bright red color.
