Best Ways to Up Your Charcuterie Board Game for Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMU chapter.

It’s that time of year again when it’s time to plan date night for Valentine’s Day! This year is a little different, but that doesn’t mean that it still can’t be special. Here are a few quick tips to help you make the perfect charcuterie board for a date night in!

Make the Board Unique to You

When making the charcuterie board, you obviouly need something to display the food on. Why not make it something special to you? Get a board with your initials enaged, or shaped like something special to you, and it will make the appetizers all the more special!

Make Sure You Actually Like the Food That is On the Board

This one might seem obvious, but so often when you get a meat and cheese plate in a restaurant, there are a couple of things that no one ends up eating and it goes to waste. Fix that this year by focusing on things that the two of you enjoy and it will make it all the better!

Don’t Be Afraid to Put Some More Unique Items on the Board

A traditional charcuterie board includes cheese, meat, and bread, but why not include more? Add in some fun veggies, dips, and other items you enjoy to update this traditional serving dish.

Make it Fancy

Charcuterie boards are about taste, but just as important is style. Ways you can make your board stand out is by arranging it in such a way that looks pretty- it makes it all the more appetizing. Some people use cookie cutters to cut shapes in the meat and cheese, but you can also use a knife to make any shape you want!

Add Herb Sprigs for Some Extra Style

Another great way to artfully arrange your display is by adding some fresh rosemary, or any other herb, you like to the board, to make it more rustic and homestyled. It’s perfect for a casual night in!

There you have it! I hope you find some good ideas for making your Valentine’s Day charcuterie board just a little more special!
