This year, designers filled the runways with a number of new footwear trends, proving that 2017 will be the year of shoes. Check out these five shoe trends of 2017.
1. The flatform is back. Designers like Versace, Prada, and Phillip Lim had their models strut down the runway in these flat platform shoes.
2. The kitten heel. Celine and Dior proved that even the smallest hint of a heel can be sexy.
3. Ties/straps/buckles around the ankles. The wrapped up ankle is huge this year – Gucci, Ellie Saab, House of Holland, Attico, and many other designers proved this on the runway.
4. Leather boots for spring. Leather in bright colors in boots and booties will be huge for spring and summer, as noted by Rodarte, Louis Vuitton, and Marc Jacobs.
6. And finally, the sock boot trend made famous by Kanye’s own Yeezy collection hit the runway big. Fendi and Balenciaga models sported the boots that resemble a shoe in a sock.
