Who said you can’t voyage during the most beautiful week of the year alone? Who said it wasn’t going to be as fun with probably less hangovers and regrets than a group trip to Mexico? Spring breaking alone can not only be joyous for your heart but you’ll learn things about yourself you never thought you would. Don’t think you’ll get lonely, if anything you’ll be socializing with a bunch of strangers from whatever destination you choose to go to. Yes, you’ll be out of your comfort zone but all in good company. Here are a couple of reasons on why you should spring break alone.

1.Complete Isolation: When you choose to go to a city in complete isolation with yourself, you have time with your thoughts. You’re in a powerful state of just being true to yourself and finding out what’s really good for you. Being in a whole different city, you won’t have any distractions to disrupt your thinking.

2. Independence: Being girls, I feel as if we fear traveling alone. We always feel as if we need somebody to be with us, whether it be a friend, boyfriend or family member. When you travel alone, you learn to break that barrier and learn to be independent. Being a typical college student and you’re just starting to venture out, you will slowly but surely learn to become less depedent on people. Which is only a positive.

3. Freedom: Travel wherever you want to and have an itinerary for absolutely whatever you want. You don’t have any other travelers with you to nag on what they want to do or force you to do what they feel like doing. It’s your trip and you’re allowed to live it. You want to stuff your face with a room service burger on the beach at 3 a.m.? Do it!

4. Socialization: You get to meet very cool individuals just like you! When you’ve had enough self evaluating sessions and want to socialize, you can. Who knows you might meet an adorable French guy at the Café you were sipping your latte at! It’s your time to talk to whoever and flirt with whoever, you’re a free bird! Might as well enjoy it.
