I cannot emphasize how thankful I am that I have crossed paths with each and every single one of my friends at school. Not a single person feels out of place, and I know that we were all meant to cross paths with each other. I know that when I am old and gray and thinking about my college years, the best memory I’ll have is the memories I have created with you all. You’ve helped me grow into who I want to be and helped me become who I am today. You are all unapologetically yourselves, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It is hard for me to think about you all without being astonished at the people you are, and the people you will be. I’ve surrounded myself with a group of determined, loving, and fun people and your friendship means the world to me. The people around me all want to make the world a better place, not only for themselves but for the people around them – and that is something I will forever admire and keep with me.
Not only did you all teach me the importance of friendship, but you’ve all taught me how to love life and to appreciate the world for what it is. Not everything is as serious as it seems to be in my head, and there is never a bad time to enjoy what is happening around us. From dance parties, beach trips, or even just sitting and talking together, you all teach me how to love life a little bit more each day. I have never felt more comfortable with a group of people – and that’s not a coincidence. There is not a problem that a dance party can’t solve – and if there is, you are all there with open arms and love to help get through it. The support system that you all provide is priceless and I never feel scared to dream about what life could be, and how good life is with you all in it. You are all welcoming, loving, caring, empathetic, and are teaching me the importance of loving life unapologetically.
No matter how much fun we have, we never forget the goals that we have and the work that goes into it. No matter how much we complain about the work that we have, the problems that we face, or the anxieties that come, we all get through life with love and determination. We all have dreams – and we all know to work for them to get there, but the goal is never the focus. The journey there is never focused just on the end goal, but it is important to have fun while we’re working to get there. I have never met a group of people who are so dedicated to their goals, hopes, and dreams, but are all willing to have a great time doing it. No matter how much we fuck shit up, we get our grind on and get what we need to do. No matter what life throws at us, we come back fighting. You are all resilient, strong, and determined.
There is something in every single one of you, that I want more of in my life. Whether it be your humor, attitude, strength, energy, determination, or empathy, each of you has traits that I want in my life forever. You are all growing into who you want to be and the people who you will become, and I am more than thankful to be a part of the journey that gets you there. You are all loved, cared for, and most importantly, you are all supported. I cannot wait to see all of your dreams come true, because I have seen the work that you put in to get there. I have seen you hurt, I have seen you happy, and I hope nothing but the best for each and every one of you.
