How to Have a Productive Sunday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMCVT chapter.

Eat a good breakfast

I know your stomach might hurt from your nighttime endeavours but starting your day off right is important. Go grab some toast with your roomies, or if you’re feeling it, go out! Sunday breakfast (or brunch) is the best time to get something tasty. It’ll motivate you to do other nice things for your body. Drink lots of water and OJ and load up on the good stuff to compensate for the partying. Your body needs a day to recover and this is a good place to start.

Get a coffee

Go treat yourself to a nice coffee. If you want dining hall coffee then go ahead, but my personal favorite is a medium iced from Dunkin Donuts. If you’re feeling extra special go get a latte or something at a local shop. Whether you like it hot or cold, black or basically milk, or hey, even tea, go get some caffeine coursing through those veins.

Work out

Sundays always stress me out because they make me realize all of the stuff I have coming up in the week ahead. But one of my best de-stressing activities is working out. Get those endorphins rushing and your body moving! Think about how great you’ll feel after! I know your might be feeling a little lazy but I promise that you’ll feel so accomplished if you get a quick workout in and let it all out.

Do laundry

I know that literally everyone does laundry on Sundays, but it’s just the perfect time. In between all of your other productive activities, you can just run downstairs and switch it out. It’s minimal effort for maximum reward! And it’s the best feeling ever to sleep in some freshly washed pajamas and sheets. Snag a washer and don’t wait too long in between washing and drying or else your clothes might end up on the floor… it’s laundry day!

Get some homework done for the week

This item is usually at the bottom of my Sunday productivity list, but when I finally get to it, I feel very relieved. If I know I’m going to have a busy week, sometimes I’ll try to get a head start on next week’s work, or at least plan it all out. I really thank myself for this mid-week when I’m cramming for 3 different exams and already have the study guides made from the weekend.

Take a nice shower

Showers are so underestimated. A nice shower always makes me feel refreshed and clean and comfortable. I use my favorite products and make sure that I put on some nice comfy clothes after. Ahhh, a nice hot shower to clean off all of the makeup and sweat from the weekend.

Do something that makes you happy and relaxed

It always feels so amazing to do lots of productive things on Sunday, but it’s also nice to just relax. At the end of the day, I always try to do something I enjoy like watching a little bit of football or something. Most of the time I try to hang with my friends, too.

And hey, sometimes I just spend the whole day lying in bed… we all need those days. Not every Sunday can be productive! But if you’re feeling motivated, follow these steps for a rewarding Sunday. You got this!
