Steps:
Left Hand
1. Thumb: Paint the entire thumbnail orange, then after a few minutes apply a black tip using the nail art brush. Under the black, create a silver border using the silver nail art brush. Allow the nail to dry for a few minutes, then use the black nail art brush to write a Halloween phrase like “Boo!” diagonally across the orange nail polish. Finally, make a small circle with the black nail art brush, and add 8 little legs to make a spider!
2. Pointer: Paint the entire nail black, and then allow the nail to dry for a few minutes. Using the white nail art brush, create a solid white oval that begins at the top of the nail. Add arms to make the ghost wave, and use the black nail art brush to create eyes and a big friendly grin! (Unless you want a spookier look)
3. Middle: Paint the entire nail white and allow the nail to dry for a few minutes. Using the black nail art brush, paint an elongated oval in the middle of the nail. To create a mummy-like wrap, paint various diagonal lines around the think black oval. Finally, use the white nail art brush to create the eyes within the black oval. Add a touch of green for a more piercing look, but black would suffice as well.
4. Ring: Paint the entire nail yellow and allow it to dry for a few minutes. You may need a few coats to get a richer yellow. Using the black nail art brush, create a solid round shape that begins at the top of the nail and ends at the middle. Add pointy ears and after the black dries, create the eyes using the white nail art brush. Make smaller green circles within the white and add black pupils using the black nail art brush. It should look like a cat peeking out from your nail.
5. Pinky: Paint the entire nail white and allow it to dry. Use red nail polish to mimic blood spatter by carefully dripping it over the white. It won’t come out the same every time so be creative!
Right Hand:
1. Thumb: Paint the entire nail green. Allow the nail to dry and then add the hair using a black design brush. Start at the bottom of the nail by the cuticle and create a solid black head of hair. Finally, add two small black dots for eyes, and a horizontal line divided by smaller vertical ones to create Frankenstein’s mouth.
2. Pointer: Paint the entire nail orange. You may need a few coats to get the nail dark enough. Once the nail is dry, use the black nail art brush to create the pumpkin’s face. You can be creative with it, but triangle makes good eyes and noses. Add green glitter to the bottom of the nail for a glittery leaf appearance if you wish!
3. Middle: To create Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, paint the entire nail white and allow it to dry. It’s best to look at a photo while painting Jack’s face, but his eyes are almost circular. He has two small, diagonal lines for his nose, and a long curved line that touches the tip of the nail and curves up to almost reach each eye. Add vertical lines across the mouth to create the stitch marks.
4. Ring: Paint the entire nail black and allow it to dry. Create a straight, vertical line down the center of the nail. Create a white tip using the white nail art brush, and round the ends down to meet the vertical line and repeat to create three sections of the skeleton that go all the way to the bottom of the nail.
5. Pinky: To create the candy corn nail, apply yellow nail polish to the bottom third of the nail. Using the orange nail art brush or the regular orange, paint the middle section of the nail. Finally, use the white nail art brush to paint the remaining section of the nail up to the tip.
Have fun and be creative! Happy Halloween! :)
