Fall in VT hits differently. The leaves turn a little bit earlier, and the sheer mass of trees makes the foliage ten times more beautiful. The mountains turn from green to orange, red and yellow, and you are encompassed by the warm peaks around you. I drove up from MA a few weekends ago and the foliage was so perfect I felt like I was driving through a New England postcard all the way up I-89. This fall has been pretty mild so far, and most days are nice enough to still want to be outside. Each weekend, my friends and I have been trying to cram in as many activities that are most conducive to fall as we can before winter hits us like a truck. I don’t think I have ever been this basic, but here are some of the best ways to hang with the girls all pumpkin-spice-leaf-peeping-flanel-season.

  1. Hike

As I said, the Green Mountains are all kinds of orange, red and yellow right now so get out there and get your steps in while breathing in that perfect 62 degree air and take in all pretty leaves.

  1. Foliage Chair Lift

A less exhausting way to get to the summit and see all the beautiful leaves is a chair lift!!! All the views with a fraction of the time and sweat.

  1. Breweries

If hiking isn’t your thing, don’t worry, sitting around and drinking and talking about nothing is often my girls and my thing too. Going to a brewery that you can sit outside is so perfect this time of year. Not too hot, not too cold, and can take some cute pics in your sweaters and flannels and liquid blankets with your flight of IPAs.

  1. Pumpkins

Pick your own pumpkins!!!! And carve them!!!! Get creative!!!!!

  1. Apple Pick

It actually doesn’t get more basic, I couldn’t NOT include it. Personally not my cup of tea, but people go nuts over it.

  1. Bake

You have all of these apples and apple crisp is calling your name!! Also, my friend brought my roommates and I homemade pumpkin muffins this morning and WOW did that get Wednesday off to a good start.

Soak it up ladies, soon you’ll be buried in snow. HCXO!
