HC: Why did you choose SMC?

MD: I knew about Saint Mike’s because this is where my parents met. At first I didn’t want to go here because I didn’t want to follow in their foot steps, but after visiting I fell in love with the area of Burlington as well as the community and family like feel I got while walking around the campus.

HC: What is your favorite thing about SMC?

MD: My favorite thing about Saint Mike’s is that you can’t walk from one part of campus to another without seeing someone you know. Although there are some down sides to a small school, knowing so many people and always seeing a familiar face is  definitely a plus.

HC: How has playing field hockey impacted your SMC experience?

MD: Field hockey has always been a part of my life, I’ve been playing since I was like 12 and I honestly can’t picture my life without it. I have absolutely loved being on the team here at Saint Mike’s. The moment I got here in August for my freshmen year preseason, I felt like I gained 25 new sisters. This team has become my family and I’m so lucky to be a part of it. Being an athlete has also taught me a lot about time management and that has been crucial so far in college.

HC: Do you have any advice for underclassmen?

MD: Enjoy every single minute of every day here. Saint Mike’s is an incredible school and the people are even better. Soak it all in cause it does go by way faster than you could ever imagine.

HC: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

MD:  Probably still in school… I want to go to Medical School or PA school after undergrad, so I’ll probably be studying somewhere!
