The Harry Potter series is a true fan favorite among many readers, both young and old. I mean, who wouldn’t love to read a series about a magical boarding school where you get to a) learn magic, b) learn magic and c) did I mention learn magic? While the recent actions of the series’ author, J. K. Rowling, against the trans community, are reprehensible, I believe that the series’ enduring messages of hope, courage, and love shine through to where they lie untouched by her bias. The Harry Potter series was a huge part of my, and many others’, childhoods, and therefore many want to be able to find that same magic in other series. Without further ado, here are 5 series to read if you are looking for a series similar to Harry Potter, as I think we could all use a bit of an escape into a magical world at the moment.
