Your Guide to the Best St. Louis Ice Cream Spots

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SLU chapter.

1. For when you want a St Louis classic: Ted Drewes Frozen Custard

Ted Drewes has some absolutely amazing frozen custard and has been a staple in St Louis for a long time, and for good reason. Its old school walk-up window setup and classic flavors make it a must try spot for anyone coming to or passing through the city.

2. For when you want a good vibe: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

Jeni’s is quite possibly the cutest ice cream shop I’ve ever stepped foot in. Everything from its interior design to unique flavors makes this place a go-to spot for any social outing. Plus, it’s a great place for pictures and is conveniently located in the Central West End.

3. For when you want a bucket list staple: The Baked Bear

The Baked Bear is a newer spot in the city, located in the Delmar Loop. This place is known for its customizable ice cream sandwiches, and with endless build your own combinations, its easy to see how it got to be so popular (thanks to Kayla Wasielewski for the picture!).

4. For when you just want really good ice cream: Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery

With multiple locations and great vibes, Clementine’s is a solid spot to satisfy your cravings. The quality of ice cream here is next-level and they also offer some wonderful vegan options!

5. For when you want more than just ice cream: Shake Shack

Shake Shack is known for its trendy vibes and classic burgers, but its ice cream is also a must-try item. Case in point? The Central West Blend, named after the location in the Central West End, which features St. Louis’s very own gooey butter cake.
