#1 St. Louis Symphony on Art Hill

Every year, the St. Louis Symphony celebrates their upcoming season with a free concert! This year, the annual event will be held on September 13 at 7 p.m. at Forest Park. The concert will feature classical favorites and a finale of fireworks. Cute picnics and blankets are also highly encouraged!

#2 St. Louis Art Museum

The St. Louis Art Museum is always free, and it’s amazing. This fall there are multiple new collections: A Century of Japanese Prints, Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, Flowers in 18th Century European Textiles, etc. It’s a beautiful, free way to spend a couple of hours!

#3 Belleville Farm

At Belleville Farm, picking is available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Not only is entrance free, but you can pick apples for only $2.99 per pound. It’s the perfect, affordable fall activity!

The 45th anniversary of the Great Balloon Race will be held September 15 and 16. The Balloon Glow is Friday (15th) at 7 p.m., and Race Day is Saturday (16th), with the balloon launch at 4:30 p.m. Both events are totally free, and totally awesome. Shakespeare in the Streets is an interesting adaption of the Bard’s “King Lear,” which is based on a theme that resonates with the St. Louis community. The event is September 15-17 at 8 p.m. by the St. Louis Public Library. The unique play aims to encompass what it means to be a St. Louisan, while respecting and commemorating the Bard.
