A promise of a distant future

A message;

To the past

From the present

Just a little wish

An inkling of hope,

That one day

A true serenity will envelop me

Entangle me with others in a world where fear is insignificant

Instead overpowered with love and compassion

A place where laughter encompasses all

No longer trapped in that box once called home

Waiting and waiting and waiting

To see the vast colors

Of the distant horizon

Away from the dreary past

Veiled with tears and stumbles

No longer trudging through every step taken

So far away it seems

Not at all in reach

That place of warmth and support

That place where I find the people I love;

And they love me

Oh, but wait!

That distant future,

Is standing right in front of me.
