Here’s the situation: you wake up late and have ten minutes to get out the door. You’ve got time to get dressed and eat a granola bar (yay), but you pass by the mirror and…. *gasp* WHAT DO YOU DO? Here is my tried and true under-five-minute makeup routine that I go to when I am running late (OK, this is most days but that’s beside the point)!

  1. Focus on the eyes

The first thing I do when I need to look less, erm, dead is to wake up my eyes just slightly with a coat or two of black mascara! Make sure yesterday’s mascara rings are wiped away, and focus on making those lashes POP! I tend to stay away from eyeliner when I am in a crunch because it takes up too much time and, let’s be honest, most of us are bad at it. If you have the time, quickly throw in a neutral matte shade to your crease, creating some dimension to draw more attention to your eyes.

  1. Even out the skin

The second thing I like to focus on is the skin. Now, don’t fuss with a full coat of foundation- we’re going for quick and natural here! Dot on a small amount of concealer over any angry zits and under the eyes if you need it, and you’re good to go! If you need the concealer to last through your whole day, put a small amount of loose powder over the concealed areas, and your dark spots are guaranteed NOT to make an appearance.

BONUS TIP: To liven up your face, put on a little bit of subtle pink blush to the apples of your cheeks to bring in some life and fake those 8 hours of sleep!

  1. BROWS

Some of us are #blessed with nicely-shaped, thick brows, but for the rest of us ladies who are on the sparser side, adding a little life to our brows makes all the difference! My favorite tip is to use an angled brush and some matte eyeshadow that closely matches your hair color and fill in the sparse areas. Don’t worry about creating a new shape to your brow here, just fill in what your momma gave you!

YAY! That’s it, you look great! Get out there and conquer the day <3
