Skidmore Style Watch: Get the Look!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Skidmore chapter.

This Week’s Style

Gabrielle Kwarteng, 2013

“I am wearing a crochet top from Topshop, along with a pair of harem pants I ordered from my favorite Korean clothing website (I cherish this website so much, so I refuse to disclose its name haha), and my boots are by Alexander Wang. I am also wearing my favorite accessory—wooden rosary beads I received from my father three years ago. There hasn’t been a day, since I received them, where I haven’t worn them because it holds a religious significance to my father.”

How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as minimalist because of my obsession with neutral colors. My go-to outfit is a pair of black harem pants, with a white or black shirt and a pair of boots. But I’ll also have a sporadic urge to add a simple print to the mix.

What do you think about Skidmore’s style on campus?
Skidmore’s style is very eclectic and definitely reflects the different cultures we have on campus. It is very apparent through people’s clothing that we have people from all over the country and even various parts of the world. It’s great!

What is the one staple piece in your wardrobe?
I cannot live without my favorite Alexander Wang vest.

Favorite place to shop?
My favorite place to shop is the Korean website I refuse to disclose haha. So my second favorite places to shop are a variety of thrift stores in New York City.
