What are you wearing?
I’m wearing a patterned dress with flutter sleeves that I bought two years ago at Bonnaroo, a music and arts festival in Tennessee. I spotted it in a small booth as I was walking to see one of my favorite musicians (Iron & Wine), so it was a pretty great memory and day. The necklace is a simple piece of jade on red cord given to me by a family friend before I left to study abroad last semester.
How would you describe your style?
My style is very changeable. I like free-flowing, more bohemian looks at times. But I can also appreciate the minimalism of jeans and a T-shirt. In either case, though, I would say that jewelry is my go-to accessory for dressing up any outfit. Also, I’m a freak for lace.
What’s your favorite store and why?
I love shopping at vintage and consignment shops. I think items that have a history actually feel different when you wear them. Plus, the hunt for something special can be more fun in a place like Reruns here in Saratoga, where finding a gem amongst the chaos is very rewarding.
What’s one wardrobe essential that you couldn’t live without?
I love handmade jewelry. It’s rare to see my hands bare of rings that I’ve either made myself or come across in my travels. I have one that I wear pretty much every day now; it’s a spoon that’s been hammered out so that the bowl is long and extends past the knuckle, while the stem bends to wrap around the base of the finger. It kind of looks like a piece of armor.
