Podcast Review: Glowing Up

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Skidmore chapter.

Self care season is upon us and to me, that means baths, baking, early bedtimes, and good books. This year, I’ve traded hygge for headphones as I’ve become ADDICTED to podcasts. I know I’m a little behind. I’m embarrassed to say that I just hopped on the My Favorite Murder train. But I recently stumbled upon the most delicious podcast for girls like me (superfood addicted, trend following, beauty product junkies). Esther and Caroline, the hosts of Glowing Up, fear no topic, no matter how “intimate,” and host the best guests. The girls and their guests discuss everything from the ups and downs of the pill, how young is too young to start botox, and whether waking and baking is truly part of a glowy lifestyle. There truly is an episode for everyone.

I especially adore this podcast because sometimes I feel a tad ashamed of my love for trendy superfoods, pretty packaging, and overpriced products. I feel as though others judge me for my seemingly shallow passion and my never ending quest to be glowy af. Esther and Caroline and all of their guests have showed me that it is totally normal to care about the way you look and feel and that there is no reason to feel bad about investing my (parent’s) hard-earned money on oils and powders and all the glossier my little heart desires.

The Glowing Up podcast has featured stellar guests such as Lee Tilghman from the instagram, leefromamerica (check it out asap for all the health advice) and the girls of the other incredible podcast, That’s So Retrograde. So, to conclude … this podcast is for those of you who’ve tried every sheet mask under the sun and also those of you who don’t know your KKW Beauty from your Kylie Cosmetics. Enjoy! xx
