Tell us about Los Elk.

We’re a four piece indie rock outfit. The goal of the project is to get people up and moving, which is why we’ve also been categorized as dance rock. We all kinda look similar too, we got a dark hair and scruff thing going for us.

How did you come together as a band?

Ryan and Noah were in a band together in highschool so they already had chemistry together. When I started jamming with the two of them, we new we were musical soulmates. Once we brought Hal into the mix, the chemistry was explosive.

What has been your favorite performance as a group?

We got the opportunity to open for Rubblebucket, that was sweet. We love those guys and the show was packed. It was really inspiring to play with a group that’s really doing what we want to do with our lives.

If you could perform anywhere, where would it be?

We would love to play Terminal 5 in NYC. Its one of our favorite venues and if you’re playing there, it means you’ve made it to some extent. We also made an agreement that we’re all getting Los Elk tattoos if we land a T5 gig.

When and where can we see you preform next?

Senior FunDay will be the next official show! But who knows, maybe we’ll squeeze in one last house party before the year is up.

Is there anything else the Skidmore community should know?

Sure! The project is moving to Boston and we’ll be coming back to Skidmore to play shows as much as we can. While we often gig in Boston and NY, Skidmore is and always will be our first home. We cut our teeth practicing in the band trailer and performing at Falstaffs and we’ll never forget the love and support that we got form so many people over the last four years. It has truly been the most rewarding part of our college experience.
