Name: Lauren Desormeau
Hometown: Latham, NY
Major: Studio Art
Class Year: Sophomore
HC: What is your favorite thing about Skidmore?
LD: Probably the location, how our campus is kind of secluded but you’re so close to downtown Saratoga, which is the cutest little town.
HC: How did you choose your major?
LD: I have always been super interested in art and it just seemed like the right thing to do. I really loved my digital art class in high school and found a love for illustrating that I hope to pursue.
HC: What’s your favorite station in dhall?
LD: Definitely the pasta station at lunch. Or the grilled cheese with Gouda and tomato.
HC: What’s been your favorite class you’ve taken at Skidmore thus far?
LD: Drawing. I loved both the projects and the professor, it was just a really good introduction to studio art and I met a lot of cool people.
HC: What advice would you give to an incoming freshman?
LD: Take classes that you find really interesting; even if you think you’re going to a psych major, take a class in the English department that sounds interesting to you. I came in knowing I was going to be a Studio Art major but I took a class in the Philosophy department and I really loved it and now I might minor in it.
