Five Dorm Hacks to Show Your Friends Some Birthday Love

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Skidmore chapter.

Birthdays are an important milestone in one’s life and are usually celebrated with a large cake. But baking something that even resembles a cake in a dorm room is nearly impossible; and if you do manage to make one…it’s probably not edible (sorry but it’s true). I tried. So what can you do to make your friends feel special on their birthday? Here are five ideas that might help you make their day!

1)

A brownie in a mug!! Okay so I know that I told you not to attempt baking but trust me this one works, but make sure your mug is microwavable! 3)

Plan a picnic supplied with a blanket and all of your friend’s favorite snacks and drinks. If it is warm outside find a nice place on the quad or if it is winter set up a cozy nook inside somewhere!

4)

Breakfast in bed! Who doesn’t love waking up to warm food that someone brought directly to you?

5)

A coupon booklet. Not a compilation of store coupons, but rather personal coupons like the ones you probably made for you parents when you were young. You can include tasks such as one free laundry, or a lunch in town. Get creative and think of
