5 Things You’ll Only Understand If You’re an Art Major

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Skidmore chapter.

1. Always having stuff all over your hands and clothes whether it be charcoal, clay, ink or oil paint (unless you’re in a digital art class).

2. The atmosphere in the studio the night before a project is due.

3. Having to deal with people who don’t think being an art major will get you a job or make you any money.

4. Having to drop around $200 on art supplies that you will likely have to replenish throughout the semester.

5. When someone who has never taken an art class says “why are you so stressed out? Isn’t art supposed to be relaxing?”
