Thoughts We All Have on November 1st

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SJU chapter.

‘Tis the Season…Officially!

We all know what November 1 means: it’s officially time  put away our pumpkins and break out the mini Christmas trees! It’s the unofficial (but totally official) transition between Halloween season and Christmas season – both of which are several-month-long celebrations. Here are some of the thoughts you may have on this very special day if you’re a holiday freak coping with the departure of Halloween and getting pumped for the holiday season!

1. October is officially over and you didn’t actually do anything Halloween-y

Or you may just be thrilled the only barrier between you and Christmas is gone!

 2. BUT you’re going to go way harder for Christmas season…

 3. Which starts TODAY! Merry Christmas, everyone!

4. I wonder if my roommate will judge me if I get ready to Christmas music today…

  5. These pumpkins in my dorm are out of season.

*goes Christmas decoration shopping online during class*

6. It’s officially Christmas = it’s officially winter. Better wear my Uggs and a winter coat to class today…

7.  Is it socially acceptable to wear my Christmas socks now? Do I actually care?

Definitely doing it.

9. You get anxious because Christmas is SO soon and you’ve done no shopping yet and you’re broke

10. Why has November 1 aka First Day of Christmas not been deemed a national holiday?!

I should NOT have to go to class today.

12. Cries over how much you’re going to eat within these next few weeks…

Halloween candy, Thanksgiving, Christmas cookies, Christmas dinner, Christmas candy….but you’re not sorry.

13. Thanksgiving who?

14. Why are there no Christmas movies on TV??

Step up your game, Freeform.

15. You realize that Christmas is actually so far away and you don’t think you’ll ever make it through the rest of the semester.

Hang in there, keep daydreaming about candy canes and reindeer and sugarplums, and December will be here before you know it! Happy Holidays!
