I’m sure you’ve seen this week’s spotlight around campus, but if not, meet Shannon Maguire! Not only is she one of my best friends, but she’s my roommate as well.

HC: What are you involved in on campus?
SM: Hawk Host Exec Board, Alpha Phi, Guitarist for Campus Ministry, APEX, Collegiate Challenge
HC: What are your plans for summer:
SM: I’ll be interning at Harmelin Media in Philadelphia doing media planning during the week, and on the weekends I’ll be in Sea Isle. Hopefully I’ll also be playing some music gigs in Manayunk or down the shore.
HC: Favorite part about SJU?
SM: Not being at Villanova…. and my best friends of course.
HC: Fun Fact:
SM: My parents are Hawk Mates!
HC: Favorite spot on campus:
SM: Club lib, obviously! But actually I prefer catching rays on Barb Beach with my friends.
HC: So you studied abroad in Madrid, can you tell me a little bit about that?
SM: I don’t think there are enough articles in the world to be able to describe my experience in Madrid. My four months as a blonde, traveling, (pretend) Spaniard were the best four months of my life, and I wish I could do it all over again!
HC: What was your favorite experience while you were abroad?
SM: It’s hard to narrow it down, but scuba diving in the Mediterranean Sea, riding a camel in Morocco, or drinking wine at the trevi fountain were definitely some of the highlights. I also loved going to my favorite roof top bar in Madrid, Circulo de Bellas Artes.
I’m so glad I had the chance to introduce my roommate to the rest of Hawk Hill!
