Spotlight: Elena Zecchino ‘18

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SJU chapter.

I had the privilege of sitting down with junior, Elena Zecchino to learn more about where she’s from, what she loves about Saint Joe’s, and her future career aspirations.

Her Campus SJU: Where are you from?

Elena Zecchino: I am from a small town called Cedar Grove, New Jersey. I’m a Jersey gal (North Jersey) represent!!!!

HC: Major?

EZ: I am a communications major with an advertising & promotions minor.

HC: What are you involved in on campus?

EZ: I am a sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma, I’m a member of Spoon University and Hawks Vs. Cancer

HC: What’s your favorite part about SJU?

EZ: I truly love the close-knit community that we have, the class size & the interactions between the students and teachers. I also love walking around campus because there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t run into one or more of my sisters or one of my friends!

HC: What’s your biggest pet peeve about SJU?

EZ: The PARKING. I swear, I’m convinced public safety gives out more passes each year, still knowing that there are approximately 50 spots on campus total (or so it feels like 50) Not gonna lie, I always have to leave early to get a spot. One time, I left on the later side and there were no spots left. I circled the lot for a good 8 times, as a public safety officer just watched my car go in circles and probably watched my face turn blue because I was so dizzy. I couldn’t take it anymore. I left the lot AND didn’t go to class. Thanks SJU PARKING!!!!

HC: What’s your dream job?

EZ: I would love to be an event planner for a fashion industry in NYC! That or a public relations specialist.

HC: What’s your favorite quote?

EZ: My absolute favorite quote is “accept what is, let go what was, and have faith in what will be”

HCXO,

Hanna
