Five Great Brunch Places in Philadelphia

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SJU chapter.

It’s Saturday morning and your hair is tied up in a messy bun. It’s a shock you could open your eyes when you woke up because of the loads of mascara sticking to you from the night before. One of the best (and sometimes worst) conversations on Saturday mornings start with “so, what happened last night??” What better way to laugh, hide your face, and re-watch embarrassing snap chat stories you posted than over brunch in the city with your girlfriends. Here are 5 of the best places to go when you want to focus on your stomach and forget about telling John you loved him at four o’clock in the morning the night prior……

1.     Sabrina’s Café

Located right by Drexel University, this cute café can make you feel like you’re eating a home cooked meal right at your kitchen table! Stop by and share some laughs over their “ Stuffed Challah French Toast”. It’s cream cheese topping with bananas and vanilla bean syrup leaves you satisfied and smiling. You’ll never be disappointed by this menu and atmosphere.

2.     Green Eggs Café

This center city restaurant located on North 2nd St.,  South 13th St., or Dickinson Street gives you three opportunities to try it out. Voted “Best Brunch” in Center City Philadelphia three years in a row, Green Eggs Café is perfect for a Saturday or Sunday Morning get together. Have a sweet tooth but still want to enjoy warm breakfast food? No worries! They got you covered with their Kit-Kat French Toast! A fan favorite and soon to be yours (:

3.     White Dog Café

University City’s favorite brunch place! Not only is it beautiful but the food has been voted some of the best by professional brunchers! Its menu is organic ensuring that you’re eating not only tasty, but fresh food as well. Don’t want breakfast? Try their Avocado BLT. Who said brunch was all about the pancakes anyway?

4.     Parc Restaurant & Cafe

Rittenhouse Square is one of the cutest places Philadelphia has to offer. If you’re there, be sure to stop by Parc Restaurant and taste some of their famous French Cuisine. Not sure what to get? Why not their Eggs Benedict? You can never go wrong with that!

5.     Jones

Last, but most definitely not least, Stephen Starrs famous, Jones! You can see its awesome lights right from its windows on Chestnut Street making everybody want to stop inside and have brunch. Baked Macaroni and Cheese is a MUST when  coming to Jones. Every meal is fair game during brunch.

So whether it’s Saturday, Sunday, or even just a random day of the week, these brunch places are perfect for a get together with close friends. You can’t go wrong with any item on these menus so definitely stop in whenever you get the chance! And remember, the crazy actions of Friday night lead to the ultimate Saturday morning brunch conversations. Eat up!
