Christmas 2018 Musts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SJU chapter.

If you know me, you know I waste no time every time year after year getting into the Christmas spirit…early. 2018 is no exception! Here is your guide to all of your Christmas needs to get into the spirit!

Christmas playlist:

On November 1st, Michael Buble and Josh Groban defrost and their Christmas albums start spreading cheer. So, the first Christmasy thing I do every year is update my holiday playlist and start listening (sometimes even before Halloween)! Among some of my favorite Christmas albums are Brett Eldredge’s “Glow”, CeeLo Green’s “CeeLo’s Magic Moment”, and Colbie Caillet’s “Christmas in The Sand”.

Christmas in Philly

The list could quite literally go on forever, there are so many things to do to celebrate the holiday season in Philadelphia. Ice skating and the Christmas Village at Dilworth Park, the Macy’s Christmas Light Show, and the Franklin Square Holiday Festival are just a few of the many things to do with friends this season. All very affordable and often free!!!

Bath and Body Works Christmas Scents & Candles

Winter Candy Apple, Vanilla Bean Noel, and Twisted Peppermint…yeah you know what I’m talking about. The Bath and Body Works Christmas scents come back every year and usually offer a discount and free shipping starting November 1st on their Christmas products. This year they are bringing a few new scents to market including Frosted Coconut Snowball and Winter Berry Wonder!

Starbucks’ Christmas Drinks

The first Friday of every November is every Starbucks fans’ favorite day. The return of the Gingerbread Latte and Peppermint Mocha is upon us all. And back with the CUTEST cups to get you into the holiday spirit! This year when you purchase a Starbucks Christmas drink on November 2nd, you will receive a free reusable holiday cup to bring back when you go throughout November into January and you will receive 50 cents off your Starbucks holiday drink!

Christmas sweaters, pjs, and onesies!

Its never ever EVER too early to break out the ugly Christmas sweaters and onesies! Whether they’re funny, cute, or cozy, it doesn’t matter they are completely valid starting November 1st! Not kidding, as I write this I am currently sporting a pair of Christmas pj pants with the Peanuts characters ice skating!

And finally, start making your gifts list!

One of the best parts of this time of year is giving presents to friends and family! Start making that list and check it twice! Nothing is more fun that brainstorming what you can give people and what will make them smile opening their gift that’s been sitting under the tree for them!

These along with plenty other reasons will surely get you into the spirit early on! Merry Christmas season everyone! :)
