Campus Cutie: Sean McGuire
Nickname: S-Money
Hometown: Washington Township, NJ
This week I got the chance to sit and chat with Hawk Hill’s favorite 22 year-old, Senior, English and Marketing double major and it is my pleasure to introduce him as this week’s Campus Cutie!
What do you like to do?
“I like to read. I love sports! I’m a big Yankees/Giants fan. And hanging out with friends.”
Your favorite place to be?
“Wherever you’re at.”
(Pictured bottom-right, sporting a casual and inviting thumbs-up.)
Friday night go-to?
“I flow with the river…don’t be a salmon, don’t swim upstream, see what’s happening and adapt.”
What’s a dream you have for yourself?
“I want to live in a small house in Iowa with a pretty wife, be unimportant somewhere – maybe open up a bake shop, I can’t really bake but maybe my my wife will and I could help her.. I’d know everybody in my little town and help people out with things.”
Favorite SJU Experience?
“There’s been so many… when I decided to be an English major.
I had a really good teacher Dr. Pota, she called me into her office and asked me why I was a business major so I switched and later became a business and English major.
OR When I met Katie Smith – I walked into sophomore seminar, sat down right underneath the crucifix in class… this girl walks in and sits down next to me and we’ve been best friends ever since – I didn’t know her name for the first two weeks.
Biggest Inspiration?
If not Katie Smith, my Father – he’s a good man, a good person, always treats people well, he’s a good leader, he’s a marine, he’s a very inspiring person who’s been good to me.
Favorite song to sing in the shower?
Shut up and Dance – Walk the Moon
Favorite food?
I WORSHIP PIZZA – I know two of the domino’s delivery drivers – I’ve met one of their kids..
(Pictured right, with a hotdog – not pizza – in hand.)
If you were to binge on one show on Netflix, what would it be?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer – it’s a classic, good writing, great characters, I love to see people get beat up, Sarah Michelle Gellar…
Celebrity crush?
Brittany Snow
What’s your idea of a perfect date?
I’ve never really been on a date, I guess.. We’d go get pizza and then eat it while walking along a riverbank, something outside…
Any advice for some younger hawks?
Talk to your professors, become friends with them, and do things. It doesn’t matter what – just do something. Find something you love and do it.
Thanks so much, Sean!
