With the spring semester almost halfway through, it’s important to make sure you make the most of your weekends! Thankfully, Philadelphia has so many great things to do for you and your friends.  Here are some unique ideas to do this weekend in Philly.

1. Run/Walk on Kelly Drive

 

Kelly Drive is one of the secret gems of Philadelphia, and one that everyone should experience.  Kelly Drive runs along the Schuylkill River and every weekend it comes alive with runners, walkers, bicyclists, and all others sorts of active people who want to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the long and windy pathway that eventually leads you right to the Art Museum steps. You will get exceptional views of the city, passing along Boathouse row and other picturesque statues and landscapes, creating plenty of opportunities to get the perfect Instagram!

2. Shop on Walnut Street

 

Walnut Street is the heart of Philadelphia and offers some of the best shopping and dining in the city. A great way to spend the day this weekend is by taking the train to Suburban Station, and walking just a few blocks over to Walnut Street where you can shop at a variety of stores, such as Forever 21, Zara, and an amazing four-story Anthropologie.

3. Afternoon tea at The Dandelion

 

Walking into The Dandelion, you are completely transported into a traditional British pub. One of the many unique aspects of this restaurant is that they offer afternoon tea every day, which includes a variety of teas, scones, shortbreads, and sandwiches to choose from during this classy affair. From the food to the décor, the only thing that is missing from this little London oasis is Harry Styles.

4.Visit The Barnes Foundation

 

While the idea of going to a museum may sound boring, The Barnes Foundation is anything but. Although it has sadly moved from its close Merion location to the Parkway, the Barnes is easy to walk to from Suburban Station and offers exquisite pieces of art displayed in Barnes’s and quirky manner allows viewers to experience art in a unique way.

5. Eat brunch at Green Eggs Café

 

The menu at Green Eggs Café is packed with an assortment of eccentric and delicious items that your taste buds will never forget. Although there will most certainly be a line of people outside the door, the wait is definitely worth it. One of the best ways to make sure you experience all this restaurant has to offer is by ordering a bunch of things off the menu and sharing them with your friends. Whatever you decide, make sure to try some of their famous french toast!
