Last week, the 91st Academy Awards unfolded at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. Actors, directors, designers, producers, and far more brilliant artists took the stage to give and accept awards and flaunt their fabulous fashion sense. Here are five unforgettable looks that turned heads all the way from the red carpet to the stage.

1. Lady Gaga

A sleek yet voluminous Alexander McQueen gown and matching black leather gloves. Déjà vu, anyone? In appreciation of Old Hollywood, Gaga closely resembled Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The real showstopper was the $30,000,000 128-carat diamond necklace that was last worn by Hepburn, herself.

2. Kacey Musgraves

Musgraves awed the crowd with layers of pink tulle, giving off some serious sugar plum fairy energy. Although she became a trending loofah meme, the Giambattista Valli Couture dress was a stunner at the Oscars.

3. Gemma Chan

Following the pink trend was an equally breathtaking gown worn by Gemma Chan. This look was a complex combination of styles from all eras, starting with the mid-16th century ruff collar that flowed into a modern, loose-fitting Valentino.

4. Irina Shayk

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga may have put on a steamy performance, but Shayk’s draped, low-back Burberry dress with glamorous gold detailing exuded the true confidence of an independent and proud woman. And honestly, who needs a $30,000,000 necklace when you roll up with Bradley Cooper’s mom.

5. Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron astonished the crowd in a pastel blue Dior gown with a high neckline and low-cut back that allowed her jewelry to shine. The silhouette of this dress is gorgeous, and the color is perfect for a winter-to-spring transition. Elegant, classic, and edgy—Charlize always delivers.
