Your Hispanic and Latino playlist mix

From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, the Hispanic and Latino communities celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, a time filled with festivals, celebrations, food, and music. Music has a way to unite everyone across the world, especially as different genres and artists are uniting together and continue to reach new audiences. 

Karol G, Shakira, Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, and Peso Pluma. are among the artists gaining recognition in the U.S. music market. Although these artists have been around for a while,their music continues to reach new listeners. They are not the only Hispanic and Latino artist making their mark, either. Many others deserve a spot on your playlist.

Have you ever wanted to listen to more Hispanic/Latino music beyond the artists who are already well-known and popular? Here is a list of a few other artists that you should add to your playlist.

Mon Laferte

Born in Viña del Mar, Chile, Mon Laferte has become a versatile and popular singer in both Chile and Mexico. The beginning of her career as a singer was not an easy path, but once moving to Mexico, she had a shot to make music and did it.

One of her biggest hit was her emotional ballad that was released in 2015 called “Tu Falta De Querer.” She does offer some songs that are both in English and Spanish.

  • “Aunque Te Mueras Por Volver”
  • “My One and Only Love”
  • “Femme Fatal”

J Balvin

Born in Medellin, Colombia, J Balvin is one of the best-selling Latin artists. He has around 35 million records sold worldwide. His biggest global smash was “Mi Gente” along with Willy Williams. They even had a remix version that featured Beyonce.

He also has a few other popular songs like “In da Getto”, along with Skrillex, became a viral sensation back in 2021. The song even became a TikTok trend.

  • “I Like It (Along with Cardi B and Bad Bunny)”
  • “Ginza”
  • “Safari (Along with Pharrell Williams, BIA, and Sky)”
  • “Azul”

Manuel Turizo

Another Colombian singer born in Monteria, Colombia. Along with the majority of the other artists listed on here, they have all become very versatile, catering to everyone that prefers a certain genre. His breakout single was released in 2016 called “Una Lady Como Tú.”

The one song that he released that became a massive global hit was his 2022 “La Bachata.” The song became one of the most-streamed Latin solo songs on Spotify.

  • “Esclavo de Tus Besos (Along with Ozuna)”

Paloma Mami

Born in Manhattan, New York, she may be American but she embraces her hispanic roots through her songs singing in Spanglish. Her breakout song that became a double platinum debut single was “Not Steady”. The song is mixed with R&B, Reggaeton, and Trap.

  • “Mami”
  • “Mi KAMA”
  • “No Te Enamores”

Silvana Estrada 

A few other songs:

From Veracruz, Mexico, Silvana has released 3 albums and has also collaborated with a few well known artists. She is most notably known for her song “Te Guardo,” an emotional, acoustic-driven track that has become her most streamed song. She has even performed live in the Tiny Desk (Home) Concert.

  • “Si Me Matan”
  • “Un Rayo de Luz”
  • “Como Un Pájaro”
  • “Dime”

Each Hispanic and Latino artists brings something unique to bring to the music industry. These five artists are just a few examples of the many talented musicians worth discovering. Hopefully, you have found a new artist that you can add to your playlist.
