Throughout my life, I always remember being told, “everything happens at the right time.”

For the longest time, I never knew what that meant or how it applied to my life. I never grasped the importance time genuinely has in all of our lives and how this can impact the person that we grow to become.

From high school to college, I can genuinely say that I believe I have grown tremendously as an individual.

This is shaped by all the experiences that one goes through that make them different.

I have never been big on change or new things since I always found comfort in what I already knew.

However, over the past year, my life has been full of different changes. I can’t really say   whether one was good or bad, but they were important in helping develop my newfound growth.

I was always one to believe that friendships and relationships I had in my life would be ones to last forever.

While that wasn’t the case, I had a really hard time coping with that. It’s always been hard for me to accept that some things were just not meant to last.

Having to lose so many relationships in my life around the same time was increasingly difficult that I would try and latch to. I now understand that doing that was not helpful to my own mental health at all.

Over some time, and personal reflection, I realized that while those relationships weren’t meant to last, they were there for a reason.

They helped shape the person I am now  today. There is something I have genuinely learned from each of these friendships and relationships.

While some lessons were harder to learn than others, there is nothing I would do to alter that.

Something that is extremely important to remember is that the healing process may be difficult and timely, but that is okay.

Taking as long as you need to heal and understand what you are feeling is not something that anyone can tell you to speed up.

This will help grow your understanding that everything in your life does happen for a reason, and at a certain time.
