‘Tis the season for fall decorations! Despite your relationship with the outside world right now, fall is a beautiful season to pull inspirations from for decor. If you can’t go outside, here are four DIY decor projects that can help bring the outdoors inside your space!

1. Jute Twine Garland

This is an easy way to add some farmhouse style to your room or dorm. All you need is some jute twine! Any other pieces of fabric are optional, so feel free to adjust this project to your liking. I picked up twine and burlap fabric from my local Dollar Tree. In order to create this beautiful garland, I added tassels on each end of my cut twine. Then, I cut triangular pieces of burlap to attach and hang from the twine. I decided to paint each triangular burlap piece with a letter, but feel free to add pictures or leave it plain!

2. Fall Wreath

For this project, you’ll need fake flowers, bendable wire or a wide ring, and glue or string. Start by planning a layout for your reef. Sometimes the arrangement takes a bit of trial and error before you find one that you like. I found LoneFox’s Youtube tutorial very helpful for this project, so if you need a little more inspiration you can watch it here. Once you’re satisfied with your arrangement, go ahead and glue or tie your parts to the wire and you have a fall-themed wreath!

3. “Porcelain” Painted Pumpkins

What’s fall without the pumpkins? This craft is a fairly simple way to decorate for the fall season. I purchased two Dollar Tree pumpkins and decided to spray paint one of them an off-white color with black speckles. You can choose whichever color you’d like. In order to achieve a faux porcelain look, add a small amount of baking soda to your paint.

4. Decorative Mason Jars

Organize and decorate at the same time with these rustic mason jars! Find an acorn or attach a little note to a piece of jute twine, then tie it around the rim of your jar. For a little more detail, I cut out some Dollar Tree chalkboard paper and stuck it onto the jar for labeling. You can even use this for gift giving!
